The Southland Chamber of Commerce is extending its support to businesses and in particular those associated with International Trade.
The recent merger of the Otago Chamber and the Employers created an opportunity for the Southland Chamber to expand its support to business and extend its international documentation support. The Southland Chamber is an accredited member of the NZ Chambers of Commerce and through new partnerships will offer full export document authentication and advisory services for our exporters.
Southland Chamber of Commerce chief executive Sheree Carey said, “ensuring Southern exporters have access to global markets is a fundamental role for Chambers and is a role we are equipped to support exporters with”.
“Southland’s exports are vital to our region and we’re not prepared to put that at risk. We’re well versed in export certification as we currently manage wide a range of them for our Southland members – we are presently pulling together a taskforce and doing what we can to ensure Otago’s change of status does not leave gaps in the market”.
Export Southland Chair Geoff Finnerty said he was grateful that the Southland Chamber was able to step up and provide the support needed.
“It’s been a tough year for our exporters already and there are still on-going logistical issues, the last thing they needed was a headache over continuity of services” he said.
