Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is about to begin a major redevelopment of Peacehaven Retirement Village in Invercargill, with construction work set to start on Monday, 23 June.

All planning, design, approvals and funding are now in place for the long-term project. The development will include 38 modern two-bedroom units and a residents’ lodge, built in several stages over the next five years. The first stage of the project, known as Stage 1a, will take around 18 months to complete and includes 13 homes—both standalone and duplex styles—as well as a show home.

The show home is expected to be ready by the end of this year, with potential buyers now able to register their interest.

The project will bring strong benefits to the region by engaging a wide range of local contractors and suppliers throughout the construction process. PSS says this approach will not only help deliver a high-quality development but also support Southland’s economy.

Maxis Projects has been brought on to manage the redevelopment, with Nick Hamlin leading the construction. Hamlin has worked with PSS for more than two decades and was recently responsible for the Hawthorndale Care Village project.

A celebration is planned for 23 June to mark the start of construction and the beginning of this significant upgrade for Peacehaven.
