- Eleven of the 28 Second Division Lotto prizes went to winners in the South
- One winning ticket was sold at Whitcoulls Invercargill, ten more through MyLotto in Southland
- Powerball jackpot climbs to $25 million after no First Division win
It was a strong showing for the south in Saturday night’s Lotto draw, with Invercargill and Southland players picking up 11 of the 28 winning Second Division tickets.
Each ticket won $13,779, bringing a combined total of more than $151,000 in winnings for southern players. One ticket was bought in-store at Whitcoulls Invercargill, while the remaining ten were purchased through the MyLotto app by players in Southland.

The rest of the 28 Second Division prizes were spread across the country, but no region came close to the concentration of wins seen in the south.

Two other Second Division winners also had the winning Powerball numbers, boosting their prize to $27,424. Those tickets were bought through MyLotto by players in Auckland and Southland.
The First Division prize was split three ways, with each winning ticket earning $333,333. The tickets were sold at Pak N Save Whangārei, Waipu Lotto & Post, and New World Whanganui.
Strike Four also had a winner, with a MyLotto player from New Plymouth claiming $400,000.
“Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores or on MyLotto should check their ticket as soon as possible instore, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto App,” Lotto NZ advised.
Two of those players had even more reason to celebrate, also winning Powerball Second Division. That pushed their total prize to $27,424 each. The Powerball Second Division winning tickets were sold on MyLotto to players in Auckland and Southland. While Whitcoulls Invercargill sold one the other tickets.
“Invercargill also had a winner in Wednesday night’s draw,” Lotto NZ confirmed. “It was a lucky Wednesday night for Lotto players across the country, with more than two dozen New Zealanders picking up big prizes in the latest draw.”

Among those midweek winners were 21 players who each took home $13,900 in Second Division winnings. One of the winning tickets was sold at Collingwood Foodcentre in Invercargill, continuing a lucky streak for the region.
