Hospice Shop Moving To Former Hunting & Fishing Building

Hospice South is opening a flagship retail store in the former Hunting & Fishing building.
Reloved will consolidate the charity's existing Invercargill shops into one central location, designed to boost efficiency and make donations easier.
Chief Executive Pete Thompson said the move was a strategic investment in both the organisation's future and its relationship with the community.
"Every dollar raised through our retail operations helps ensure Hospice South can continue providing specialist palliative care and support to local families free of charge. Reloved allows us to create a more efficient retail model while making it easier for our community to engage with and support our work," Thompson said.
"Bringing our Invercargill stores together into a centralised location creates operational efficiencies and improves accessibility and, most importantly, it allows us to maximise the value of every donation and every purchase made by our supporters."
The new hub will serve as the flagship destination for donated goods, second-hand shopping, community events, and fundraising activities. The furniture store at 123 Yarrow will be reimagined as a Hospice South Outlet Shop, focusing predominantly on affordable, high-turnover clothing.
Retail Assistant Manager Kimsharee Burke said the concept was designed around convenience and community.
"Reloved represents the next evolution of Hospice South retail. Bringing our stores together allows us to operate more efficiently and deepen our connection with the community," Burke said.
"This is more than a retail space. By bringing our stores together, we're creating a community hub that reflects the generosity of Southlanders and strengthens support for hospice care across our region."
Thompson said visibility was an important part of the strategy.
"Hospice South is deeply woven into our community. Reloved gives us a stronger presence and creates more opportunities for people to connect with our purpose. Whether they're donating, shopping, volunteering or attending an event, we want people to feel part of something that makes a genuine difference in the lives of local families," Thompson said.
The move comes as Hospice South experiences growing demand for services. Opening details and community launch activities will be announced in the coming weeks.
