BATHARD, David:
(Formerly of the UK) Peacefully at Resthaven Village, Gore, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after a long period of health issues, aged 91 years. Much loved husband of the late Janine, adored and loved Dad and father-in-law of Lance and Trish (Wellington), Geoff and Kim (Queensland), Kerry and Greg Crawford (Gore), cherished Pop to Troy, Hayley; Liam, Sophie; Nathanael, Oliver, Amy; and their partners, and treasured Great-Pop to his 11 great-grandchildren. A loved member of family in the UK, and his twin brother Lewis. David enjoyed a full and active life, with a long involvement in Scouting, and the Gore Pakeke Lions. The family would like to sincerely thank Resthaven Village for their exceptional care of Dad, along with all the medical staff involved in his care at Gore Medical Centre, Gore and Southland Hospitals, and from the District Nursing team. Deep gratitude also goes to the Access care workers who supported David so well while he remained at home. A special thank you to all those that we cannot mention by name, who have cared, visited and been part of his life. On Thursday, September 4, 2025, aged 86 years. Wife of the late Ken, mother of Rex, and Paul. JACKSON, Murray Alexander:
Peacefully on Thursday 11th September 2025 at Hospice Southland, with Sharon by his side. Dearly loved Partner and best friend of Sharon. Loved father and father-in-law of Kerry and Donna, Craig, the late Stephen, Jolene, Blair and Sonya. Loved Pop of Dylan, Alexis, Chevy, Levi, Siobhan, Niamh, and Jacob. A service to celebrate Murray’s life will be held at the Southland Crematorium on Wednesday 17th September 2025 at 1pm. Murray was the steadfast protector and the strength of his family - a guiding hand, a steady presence, and a source of quiet courage. His love, wisdom, and support shaped the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered with love and gratitude. With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Erin at Hospice Southland on 11 September 2025 aged 78 years. Dearly loved wife of Michael, much loved Mum and Mother-in-law of Rodney and Vanessa King, Glen and Lynette King, Paula and Daryl Browne. Adored and Loved Nana of her 6 grandchildren and Auntie of her many nieces and nephews.
