MCDERMOTT, Sylvia Georgina (Sylv) nee Nunn:
Passed away on 27th February 2023 at Rowena Jackson Retirement Village, aged 92 years, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife of Leslie* (Les) and much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Janice & Crawford McMillan (Otautau), Nelson & Val (Cromwell), Warren*, Margaret & partner, Alister McLean (Mataura), Cliff & Anne (Bluff), Edward*, Lindsay & Kate (Gold Coast). Loved Nana Sylv of Tania & Jason, Gail & Blair, Carla, Ricky & Selena, Gavin & Rue, Nathan & Korena, Tracey, Jamie & Carolyn, Shelley & Romel, Hayden & Julia, and Nana Sylv to her 17 Great Grand Children. Loved sister of Cath* & Hec* McKenzie, Gordon* & Margaret* Nunn, Jim* & Bev Nunn, and Auntie to her nieces and nephews. The family wish to acknowledge the loving care and support received from the staff at Rowena Jackson. A celebration of Sylv’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill on Thursday, 2 nd March at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Eastern Cemetery. NEILSEN, Beverley Ann:
It is with deep sadness we advise that Beverley Ann Neilsen died peacefully at Enliven Aspiring Care Centre in Wanaka on Tuesday, February 28, 2023; in her 80th year. Beverley was born in Sydney in 1943 and spent the last 55 years living in New Zealand which she adored. Beloved wife of William David (Bill) Neilsen (dec) and loved Mum to Johanna. Beloved sister to Barbara and sister-in-law to David, Beverley and Bob, and Aunt to Geoffrey, Cathleen and Nathan.
May she now rest forever in peace.
Our deepest thanks to the Enliven Aspiring Care Centre for their care of Beverley over her final years. Beverley’s funeral service will be held in St John Anglican Church, 67 Queen Street, Westport, at 1.30pm, on Friday, March 10, followed by an interment at Orowaiti Cemetery.

Peacefully at Southland Hospital on Tuesday, 28th February 2023, aged 63 years. Dearly loved Mum and Mother-in-law of Simon and Tammy, Chris and Sandy, & Katy. Adored Nan-Nan of Joshua, Jeremy, Moriah, Isabella, Jason, & Matthew. A service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held in the St. David’s on Regent Church, Regent Street on Friday, 3rd March at 2:00pm, a private cremation will follow.
