(of Cromwell, formerly Makarewa) After a well fought battle with cancer, Judy passed away at Golden View Life Care, Cromwell, on Monday, March 18, 2024, in her 72nd year. Dearly loved wife of Bill for over 50 years, loved Mum of Lynette; Graeme and Emma, loved special Nana of Molly and partner Jack, and Toby, and extended family. BUTLER, Janice:
Passed away unexpectedly at her home in Greymouth, on March 16, 2024, aged 73. Deeply loved wife of the late Wayne, dearly loved mum and mother-in-law of Stephen (Balfour), Grant and Amanda (Perth), and Nathan and Rachel (Waikouaiti), loved Nana of Aroha, Stevie, Jake, Grace, Molly, and Jacob; Ella, and Samuel; and Caihro, loved daughter of the late Gordon and Una Cook, loved sister and sister-in-law of Ann Taylor, Gavin and Carol Cook, and the late Chris Cook, loved sister-in-law of Pat and the late Ron Butler, and the late Keith Butler, a loved aunty, cousin and friend. Jan’s ashes will be interred with her late husband Wayne in the Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill at a private graveside service. Doug passed away at home on Friday, March 15, 2024 with his family by his side. Loved husband of Maureen, loved father of Bruce, and Scott, loved Pop of Josh and Maisie, Emma and Robin, Sam, and William, great Pop of Bodhi, Teddy, and a dear friend of Denise. Loved brother- in -law of June and John Ngatai, and Euan and Kay Dickson. In accordance with Doug’s wishes a private cremation has been held. Dearly loved wife of Jim*; cherished mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Anne, Stephanie McLaughlin, Maria and Alec* McNee, Mark and Jude, John and Xiaolu, Paul and Gail, Andrea and Allan Ladbrook, Richard and Sheryl, Christine and Peter Pryde, Brendan and Donna, Louise and Bruce Alsop, Owen and Sarah. Much loved Nana of her 44 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Loved sister and sister-in-law of the Greer and Young families. Special thanks to Rose Lodge for their wonderful care and loving friendships she made during her last few years. A service to celebrate the life of Dorothy will be held in St Mary’s Basilica, Tyne Street, Invercargill on Monday, March 25, at 2.00pm, followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery.
