Live update details:
- There are no new cases to report today.
- In addition, one case that had been classified as probable, has been confirmed to not be Covid-19.
- The total number of cases is now 1486.
- There were 3232 tests processed yesterday.
- Of the cases in New Zealand, 1302 are reported as recovered – a total of 88 percent of our confirmed and probable cases.
- Dr Bloomfield says there are four people in hospital and none of them are in ICU.
- There are no additional deaths to report.
- The St Margaret’s cluster has five new cases linked to it.
- “Having zero new cases of Covid-19 to report for a second day in a row is very encouraging and all New Zealanders should feel pleased with their efforts,” Dr Bloomfield says.
- He says we can’t celebrate success early. We need to stay the course and not squander what we have achieved.
- Dr Bloomfield gives a shout out to all midwives. (It’s international midwives day today).
- Jacinda Ardern reiterates the thanks to midwives. “They always go above and beyond,” she says.
- Ardern says there can still be a break out so we need to double down and maintain this good run of numbers.
- She says an update will be provided later today on the discussion with Australia’s national cabinet meeting.
