Police and ambulance are in attendance at a serious crash in Mabel Bush, northeast of Invercargill.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Grove Bush Woodlands Road and Rakahouka Hedgehope Road about 5:35pm, to reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Indications are there are serious injuries involved.

Diversions are being put in place and motorists are asked to take alternate routes.
