Police release names of dead

Police Update: Sunday 18th December

Two people injured in a car crash near Invercargill on Friday are in stable condition in Southland Hospital, one was described as being in a critical condition with the other having serious injuries.  A police spokesperson said while both people remained in hospital, they were both now stable.

Two people have died following a serious crash on Lorne-Dacre Road (SH 98) Rakahouka, Southland.
One person is also in a critical condition and another has serious injuries.
Emergency services were called just before 1:10pm this afternoon, Friday 16 December 2016.

The eastbound lane of Lorne-Dacre Road remains closed and diversions are in place.
Motorists should expect delays while the Serious Crash Unit investigate.

Serious crash on Lorne-Dacre Road in Rakahouka, Southland”

Emergency services are attending a crash on Lorne-Dacre Road (State Highway 98) in Rakahouka, Southland. Two cars collided shortly before 1:10pm this afternoon, Friday 16 December 2016.

The eastbound lane of Lorne-Dacre Road is closed and diversions are in place.

Motorists should expect delays while the Serious Crash Unit investigate.
