Preparations are going well for the Southland Home Show starting on Saturday, with another sold out event happening at Stadium Southland this weekend.

Held every year for the past 27 years, organiser George Owen said Covid-19 didn’t stop them holding any past few events, but they did have to reorganise it a few times.

Statistics show 96% of people who come to the Home Show own their own home, as the premier event for those looking at building or renovating.

With everything on offer from carpet to blinds, to elaborate coffee machines and spa pools, anybody through the door this week will also go in the draw for an E-bike.

George said all exhibitors are offering two-day deals at the show, and there will be demonstrations onsite and well as.

“We also make sure that the exhibitors are experts on their stand,” he said.

George saw an opening for a Home Show in Southland back in 1996, after being involved in every other home show around the country for 20 years.

This included being one of the first exhibitors in Waikato in 1983.

“Home shows all have their own flavour,” he said.

Tickets can be bought online through the stadium for $10.00 adults, $8.00 seniors, and children free, or on either day at the door.
