National Party volunteers were out in force around Invercargill late last night – putting up election hoardings on the eve of the installation period.
Today (Saturday) is the first day that party billboards can be erected in the South – in line with local council bylaws.
Invercargill MP Penny Simmonds says it’s excellent to see billboards going up around the province as we count down to the election.
“It’s certainly getting exciting as we count down to October 14.
“There are now just over eight weeks till the election. I’ve already been spending a lot of time out meeting constituents and understanding local issues of concern.
“I think National has some very strong policies to get Invercargill and Southland back on track and I look forward to being part of that change.”
