Update: Highway now open.
Police are in attendance at a serious crash on Edendale Woodlands Highway/ SH1.
Two people are being transported to hospital via Helicopter, one in critical condition.
Traffic is being diverted via St Ronan’s Road, not suitable for heavy traffic.
Police advise to avoid the area if possible, and to expect delays.
Detour route: Eastbound traffic turn right onto St Ronans Road North, then right onto Old Dunedin Road, then right onto Downs Road South, then left onto State Highway 1, reverse for Westbound traffic.
