Sunday was a busy day for Police and Armed Offenders Squad with two callouts to addresses in South City. What’s On Invers first repotted Sunday afternoons incident on Bain Street, Kingswell.
Police were also called to an address in the Walker and Ferguson Streets area on Sunday evening as there were reports of a firearms offence. A member of the public reportedly heard the sound of a firearm being discharged. Police responded, along with the Armed Offenders Squad as a precaution. Four people were taken into Police custody.
A 39-year-old man has been charged with unlawful carry a firearm/restricted weapon. He is due to appear in the Invercargill District Court today.
