Scania NZ – New Zealand’s leading heavy truck brand – is building the multi-national company’s most southern workshop in the world at Lorneville with a strong, new team that is growing by the day. Michelle Findlater leads the team and is very excited about what the brand – with a Swedish-based HQ – has planned for Invercargill. Related: JJ’s Southland Building New Facility At Lorneville

“We have quickly outgrown our current site in Mersey Street and are looking forward to moving in to the new Lorneville facility in a year’s time,” says Findlater – the former GWD Motor Sales and Brand Manager who also worked as an auto electrician for many years.

“Work has already started on the foundations of the six-bay custom-built workshop, and the team is also looking forward to welcoming new apprentices who will be supported from Scania’s national training centre in Christchurch.

The Lorneville service centre will include both new sales and aftersales service. Established in Invercargill in November 2020, Scania already has 16 staff including six new technicians employed in the past two years alone.

A further two more technicians will join the team later this year. Scania has 25 service centres throughout New Zealand, including a network of independent and Scania-owned service agents.

Michelle said she used to work on Scania trucks herself years ago and is loving being part of a one of the best teams in New Zealand. Alongside her already busy schedule, Michelle completed a Diploma of Business and a Degree in Applied Management last year and is now working towards her Masters.
