Public Invited to Take a Behind the Scenes Look at Police with Open Days
Dunedin, Invercargill & Queenstown Police will host Open Days on March 11.
The Open Days are a chance for members of the public to get a first-hand, behind the scenes look at Policing.
Southern District Commander, Superintendent Paul Basham says his staff are looking forward to hosting the Open Days and encourages everyone to get along.
“This year we have three Open Days throughout our District, in Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill and with a focus on recruitment, it’s a great opportunity of anyone thinking of a career in the Police to come along and talk to our staff about the different paths you can take in the Police.
“Along with the recruitment information, we’ll have plenty of other activities happening on the day that will cater to all ages and interests.
“The Open Days are a fantastic way for the public to connect with Police and to meet officers who work in their local communities and we hope to see everyone there,” says Superintendent Basham.
Open Days activities across Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill include: Station tours, Armed Offenders Squad, Police Dogs and Search and Rescue Displays, Information stalls, Plunket, Victim Support and Neighbourhood Support stands.
