Police are treating a house fire in Gore as suspicious and want witnesses to come forward.

Emergency services were called to Lawrence Street around 5am on Friday June 12 after the property caught fire. No one was injured.

Southland Area Response Manager Senior Sergeant Gary Iddenten said the fire has since been deemed suspicious.

"Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire, however it has since been deemed suspicious," Iddenten said.

"To assist our enquiries, we're seeking any information from members of the public who witnessed the fire or saw any suspicious activity around the Lawrence Street area in the early hours of Friday morning."

Police are also seeking dashcam or CCTV footage from the area.

"We're also appealing for any dashcam or CCTV footage from the area," Iddenten said.
