Police would like to reassure the public after an incident in Invercargill late last night.
Around 10:10pm on Thursday 19 July, Acting Inspector Peter Graham said Police received a number of calls from the public reporting multiple gunshots heard in the McQuarrie Street area.
- Cordons were immediately set up and the address where the gunshots came from was identified.
- No one was injured as a result.
- This incident is not related to the shooting on Kelvin Street on 30 June.
- Enquiries are ongoing to locate the person responsible for the shooting last night however Police are following strong lines of enquiry.
- Two people were arrested at the scene in relation to other matters.
