A 14-year-old male has been remanded in custody following an incident at Southland Boys’ High School.
Another male student was stabbed in the neck with a pair of scissors shortly before 2pm yesterday.
The injuries are not life-threatening and he is recovering well in hospital.
The 14-year-old appeared in Invercargill Youth Court this morning charged with Wounding with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm Detective Sergeant Sean Cairns.
Enquiries are ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

A serious assault at Southland Boys High School this afternoon, led to one student being hospitalised while another taken into Police custody.
The injured student with serious injuries was taken to Southland Hospital by Emergency services.
Both people involved were students at the school, School rector Simon Coe confirmed.

The student received medical attention for his injuries. Southland Boys’ High School takes its responsibilities towards the safety of our students extremely seriously.
We have launched our own internal enquiry and are co-operating fully with the police investigation. We have also notified the Ministry of Education.
