Otatara Ticket Wins $500k Lotto Prize

Four Square in Otatara has sold one of two winning Lotto First Division tickets from Wednesday night's draw, netting a local player $500,000.

The other $500,000 ticket was sold online through MyLotto to a player in Marlborough. Two winners, same prize, different corners of the country — and one of them is right here.

Wednesday's draw also produced a Strike Four winner: $700,000, sold via MyLotto to a Hamilton player. That's a solid night's work for someone who didn't even leave the house.

Powerball remains unwon. It rolls to $15 million on Saturday, which should keep the queues at the dairy moving.

Ten players shared Lotto Second Division, each taking home $22,182. One of those — a Woolworths Timaru ticket — also matched Powerball Second Division, lifting their total to $36,487. The remaining Second Division winners were spread across Auckland, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Rotorua, Taupo, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Nelson, and Queenstown Lakes.
