McKenzie Law welcomes Mikayala McDonald to the team

The team at McKenzie Law would like to welcome and introduce their newest solicitor, Mikayala McDonald. Born and raised in Gore, she is a true Southlander through and through.

Mikayala attended Gore High School before making the journey to Dunedin to start her law degree. Her time at Otago University impressively earned her not one but two degrees, including a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics.

Before joining the team at McKenzie Law in May 2019, Mikayala worked mainly with Estates, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Wills and Trusts.

Interested in being part of the legal profession from a young age, Mikayala has always wanted to help people. Not only does she find it a challenge, with something new and interesting popping up daily, she also finds it extremely rewarding. She is looking forward to getting involved in the range of specialties McKenzie Law has to offer.

Mikayala initially thought family law would be the best way to help people but she has found conveyancing (including property sale and purchases documentation) to be just as rewarding. “It is really exciting helping first home buyers achieve their dream of buying a home and getting into the property market!”

Mikayala’s approach with clients is offering friendly, realistic and down to earth legal help. With a focus on understanding the client and their needs and with knowledge on a range of legal specialisations from conveyancing, family law, limited licences to employment law, Mikayala has you covered. Though based at the Invercargill office, Mikayala also works at the Gore office, so be sure to catch her when she is in town.

Hearing people’s stories and helping them with some of the most important issues in their lives is what they do best.
