Mal’s Moon Memory – The Eagle Has Landed

Go for landing……immortal words from Houston control as The Eagle came closer and closer to where no man had gone before, the surface of the moon.

A couple of minutes later another immortal line, “Tranquility base here, The Eagle has landed”.

History had just been made, but more was to come with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldren were later to take a stroll on the Moon.

Yes it was 50 years ago today July 20 1969 that all this took place.

Btw, heard a chap on the wireless today saying that we’ll be sending manned spacecraft back to the moon then onwards to Mars sooner than we think.
