Over the weekend six KartSport Southland members traveled up to Christchurch to compete at the Garden City Event which was also the last round of the Mainland Series.
Jacob Earley competed in the Cadet ROK class and showed us how well he can drive putting in some awesome passing moves and scaring the crap out of his mother. He finished 4th overall in the Garden Cities and 4th overall in the Mainland Series. He also won a set of tyres thanks to the Mainland Series
Alex Crosbie competed in the Vortex Mini ROK class. He always struggles at the ChCh track and this time was no different. The class was tough with 12 competitors and he finished 8th overall. He managed to finish 4th overall in the Mainland Series.
Logan Thompson and Findlay Dixon competed in the Junior Rotax class. Both of them ended up crashing into another competitor after her wheel fell off, this wrecked Findlay’s kart and saw both boys slightly injured. Logan was able to continue racing but was still struggling with the track.
Kyle Dawson and Aleesha Morton competed in the Rotax lights. While Kyle was not completely happy with the kart and the speed he was able to get out of it he still finished 4th overall.
Thanks to John Keast who gave up his time to travel again with the team and his van full of gear.
