Your ears did not deceive you, the distinctive roar of jet engines was heard again over Invercargill last night.

The same jet aircraft that was chartered on a medi-vac mission again made a round trip from Auckland to Invercargill and return.

The Hawker-Beechcraft aircraft was also used on a medi-vac mission on Saturday afternoon.

whatsoninvers.nz understands that involved a patient transfer from Auckland to Invercargill.

The nature of last night’s mission is unclear, whatsoninvers.nz contacted Southern DHB for comment.
The statement said “Medi-vac planes are used to transport patients around the country. We do not provide specific information on individual flights in the interests of patient privacy”

On both occasions, the jet was the only aircraft to feature in New Zealand skies on flight radar.
