Attendees enjoyed a range of entertainment from local community groups, including the Southland Art Society, Invercargill Pipe Band, Cook Island Dance Group, Te Wharekura o Arowhenua Kapa Haka Group, and Craig Smith, who is also known as the Wonky Donkey.

There were also various activities available throughout the day, such as face painting, henna, tattoos, and story-telling, ensuring that there was something for everyone.

Mike Sanford, the founder of whatsoninvers.nz, commented on the event, stating that it was a great day overall. However, feedback from the public was that the only thing missing from the event was some food trucks and craft stalls. Despite this, he loved the new Esk Street, which looked great following recent refurbishments. The street boasts new street furniture, lighting, and landscaping, making it an even more attractive and comfortable space for visitors and shoppers.

Overall, the Esk-plore your city streetfest was a great opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy entertainment while showcasing the potential of the newly refurbished street as a vibrant and bustling hub of activity.

The event highlighted the importance of community involvement and support and provided a great opportunity for visitors and locals to explore Esk Street, meet friends, and enjoy entertainment from local community groups.
