Family fun will be to the fore as ILT’s 75th birthday celebrations continue.

ILT has partnered with XO Church to create a free Community Carnival, to be staged at ILT Stadium Southland on November 9 and 10.

ILT marketing and sales manager Angee Shand said the organisation was excited to celebrate the significant milestone with the community.

“Birthdays are the best excuse for a party and this one is going to be an absolute cracker,” she said.

“Our focus has been on staging a celebration for families to enjoy as they spend quality time together creating new memories.

“XO Church were the perfect choice to join forces with given their previous experience in developing these events and the team at ILT Stadium has also been so supportive in making it all a reality.”

Pastor Bernie Pope was eagerly anticipating the event.

“It will be jam-packed full of fun. It’s a real family event with something for everyone and, best of all, it’s absolutely free,” she said.

Similar events run by XO Church previously had proved a hit with the community.

“They’ve been a fantastic success. We’re really looking forward to having a great big venue at ILT Stadium this time with plenty of room for all of the fun.”

Over 120 volunteers will oversee a range of activities, including lazer tag, bubble ball, bouncy castles, dunking booths, mini golf, crafts, sporting challenges, face-painting and carnival games.

To refuel, there will be traditional treats such as candy floss and ice cream available.

ILT staff and their families will have exclusive access to the carnival. It will then be open to the public from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, November 9, and 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, November 10.

“We have over 700 dedicated staff in our organisation who work exceptionally hard and ultimately that enables us to continue having a positive impact on the community through grants, funding and hospitality. We’re really looking forward to rewarding our family with this opportunity to let their hair down and have some fun with their own family,” Shand said.
