Dearly loved son of David (Sport) Hattrill*, Kym and David Reynolds. Adored and loved brother of Tyler and Ella, Toni, Josh, Carrie-Lee and Digby, Lexi and Kat. Much loved Dad of Miia, Madelin, and Jaylin. Loved son of his second Mum Maree. A much loved grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, and a dear friend to many. Sadly, passed away at Southland Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday 2 November 2025, aged 83 years. Loved husband of Helen. Loved father and father-in-law of Michelle, Craig, Luke and Sheralyn, Carmen and Jason. Beloved grandfather of Joshua, Kyle, Brianna, Gabrielle, Hektor, Ruby, and Stella. Cherished great grandfather of Kiara. A service to celebrate David’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill, on Friday 7 November at 1.00pm. Passed peacefully surrounded by family and holding Mum’s hand on Friday 31 October 2025 at Bupa Ascot Care Home, Invercargill. Devoted husband of Hilary and father and father-in-law of Lenard and Robyn, Derek, Tina, Sarah and Graham Dollman, and Quinton and Amanda. Adored Grandad of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eldest son of the late Jack and Molly and a much-loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Loved daughter of Stan* and Jean* Ramsay (Waikaia), little sister of Brent*. Loved wife of Steve Petterson. Loved Mum of Dena and Craig McKenzie, Lee Petterson, Jenni and Aaron Shearer*. Loved Nana of Madison and Sam Masterton, Rylee McKenzie, Ethan McKenzie, Elfee Petterson, Levi Shearer and Kye Stuart, Corban Shearer. Sadly, Jan died on Friday October 31, after fighting Ovarian Cancer for 19 months. We were married for 51 years 7 months. She was my life, my light, and we were one person, together in all things.
