GILLESPIE, Andrew Donald (Andy):
Peacefully but unexpectedly on Thursday 21st May 2026, surrounded by his family. Dearly loved dad and father-in-law of Emma and Kev, and Olivia and Marlon. Treasured Grandad of Levi, Asher, and Thomas; Jax, and Rocky. Beloved son of Marion* and Bob* Gillespie. Brother and brother-in-law of Gavin and Edie, and Fraser and Shiree. A loved uncle and cousin to many. A loved and special friend of Joan, Jude, and the McKerchar boys - Ben, Dan, and Simon. After graduating from Telford, Andy led a full life on the sea, land, in the bush and speedway side car racing with his brother Fraser before farming in Te Anau for the last 28 years. A service to celebrate Andy’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill on Saturday 30th May, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Coast Guard New Zealand would be greatly appreciated and may be left at the service. HORN, Aileen Carmel:
Peacefully with her loving family by her side and in the care of Rowena Jackson Retirement Village on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, aged 87 years. Dearly loved wife of the late James and loved mother of Carmel, John* and Annabel, Brigid and Kevin Heads, Kathleen and David Simpson, and Leonard*. Adored nana of Patrick, Rory, Stacey, Ashley, Daniel, Jeffrey, and Emma and their partners and great nana of Riley, Chloe, Ella, Lucas, George, Hudson, Tommy, Jamie, Elyce, and Rosie. A service to celebrate Aileen’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, on Thursday 28 May 2026 @ 1.30pm, the service will conclude with the interment at the Eastern Cemetery. RENDEL, Joy:
Joy passed away peacefully on 22 nd May 2026 at Peacehaven with her family by her side. Loved wife of the late Ewen, much loved mother and Gma of John, & Liz (Anderson) and Jess & Todd Nicol. Loved sister of Claire and Auntie of Scott, and Michael (Christchurch) and families. Very friend to Julie & Michaela (Outram). Also missed by Cindy, Zues, & Maisie. Tragically, as the result of an accident on May 23, 2026; aged 34 years. Cherished husband of Chelsea, devoted dad and mate to Ollie, dearly loved son and mate of Mark and Raewyn, cherished brother of Blake*, dearly loved grandson of Tom* and Margaret Graham, and Stewart* and Martha* Sinclair, loved son-in-law of Cath and Brian Edmondston, and a loved uncle to his nieces and nephews. 27/06/1936 - 26/05/2026 Passed peacefully at Southland hospital 1 month before her 90th birthday. Beloved wife of Gordon*. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Beryl*and George*, Joyce* and Colin*, Gwenda*and Bruce*. Loved and treasured Aunty of all her nieces and nephews. You were a "Mum" to some and aunty to 3 generations of family. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday 24th May 2026. Aged 80 years. Dearly loved wife of Alan. Loved Mum of Barry and Maree, the late Wayne, Grant and Felicity.
