CAWOOD, Shaun:
On Monday, January 24, 2022, peacefully, surrounded by love and tears at his home, after an 18-month battle with brain cancer, aged 59 years. Cherished husband and best friend of Deidre Francis. Adored father of Sophie and Emma. Admired father-in-law of Thomas. Unfortunately, due to covid restrictions a private memorial service has been held. Messages to Francis/Cawood family, c/- PO Box 10345, Christchurch 8145. In lieu of flowers, the family have requested that a native tree or shrub, suitable for the Canterbury Plains, be donated or donations be made towards a Memorial Planting for Shaun at his home in West Melton.

COOPER, James Wilson (Jim):
Died peacefully at home on Friday, January 28, 2022. Jim was born on April 2, 1940, in Southland, New Zealand. The son of Elsa McNeil and William Maxwell Cooper, brother of Christina, McNeil and Maxwell. From Gore he went on to build a formidable family business empire in New Zealand, Australia and the USA from his beloved tropical home of Darwin. Father of Robyn, Jamie, Erynne and Allison. Father-in-law to Craig and Adrienne, grandfather to Christopher, Nathan, James, Jessica, Brandon, Kaila, Jack, Callum, Lachlan, Gigi, Charlize and Harrison; great-grandfather of Sophie, Imogen and Tilly.

Forever pushing boundaries, his tireless energy, wisdom, intelligence and kindness will be missed by many.

Peacefully at Hospice Southland on Thursday, 27th January 2022 with his loving family by his side. Dearly loved Husband and Soulmate of Lesley. Loved Dad to Gary & Frankie, and Craig & Cindy. Special Grandad to Kyle and Toni, Ashleigh*, Josh and Howie, Jacob and Chantelle, Sam and Nickayla, and Jess and Alex. Proud and loving Great Grandad (Nana G) to Aaliyah, Blake, and Bayley. A service to celebrate Ernie’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Pomona Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, commencing at 1.30pm. Due to Covid restrictions attendance is limited to 100 people and will be by invitation. Please contact the family if you wish to attend. Vaccine passes are required for those attending.
