At Waikiwi Gardens Rest Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in her 89th year and in the 70th year of marriage with her loved husband Ron. Mum and mother-in-law of Donece and Ray McEwan, Wallace and Delma and the late Jan, Rhonda and Stan Black, Kathleen and Brian Nicholl, Charlie, and Hillary Caig. Proud Nana of Raylene and Mike, Brebner and Elizabeth, Brendan, Corey and Gwen, the late Robby, Nicolette and Jim, Warren and Sheryl, Arden and Suzanne, Richard, Jessica, Anna, Yvette and Matt, Fern, Ferris and Matt, Jorden and Chanel and 24 Great Grandchildren. A service to celebrate Freda’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street on Monday, 15th April at 10:30am, the service will conclude with the burial at the Riverton Cemetery at 12:30pm. Passed away peacefully at Rowena Jackson Invercargill, loved husband of the late Mary (nee Taylor) and Mavis. Aged 93 years. Much loved dad of John and Leanne (USA), Rosemary and Peter Watt (Oamaru), Pam and Steve Butler (Invercargill), Trevor and Anthea (Wanaka). Much loved grandad and great grandad and brother of Dorothy*, Neil, and Anne*. A service to celebrate Ferg’s life will be held in the Wyndham Presbyterian Church, Balaclava Street, Wyndham on Tuesday 16th April at 2pm. PHILLIPS, Barbara Jean (nee Jefferies).
(formerly of Papatowai). Passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Aged 70 years. Loved partner of Bryan Bevin. Much loved mum and friend of Justine and Heath King, Harry (Daryl) and Aroha. Loved step-mum of David, Mike, Vick and Paul Hayes. Loved Nana of Danielle and Kansas, Brandon and Shakia, Patrick, Anare and Whitney, Hori, Toni and Breckyn, Maddie, George, Finn and Oscar. Lifelong friend of Flipper (John) and special friend of Toni and Flynn. Loved sister and sister-in-law of George* and Sue*, Peter and Wendy, Billy and Sharyn. Loved aunty, great-aunty, and great-great-aunty of all her nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 16, at 2.00pm, in the Southland Crematorium Chapel, Rockdale Road, Invercargill. PAKI, Thomas (TBox). 07.02.1941- 14.04.2018.
After a year of reflection and memories, Maggi, Tamati and Sarah, Zacson, Tahlia and Kayden along with Teresa would like to thank everyone for their love, support and sympathy given to us during Thomas’s illness and when he passed away.
Thank you for the flowers, food, cards and many messages, and a huge thank you to all those who travelled from Australia and various parts of New Zealand to be with us to share in the celebration of Thomas’s life.
Our special thanks to Dr Jordan Baker, in whom Thomas had complete trust, Southland Hospital along with the District Nurses for their care and support of Thomas, and Hospice Southland for making his last days so comfortable, also to Stephanie, we loved those early morning muffins and Andrea Jerry for her lovely service. Thomas would have loved your singing. Those who gave eulogies, thanks, I am sure many of us would have had a good laugh when we heard of a new way to remove a motor from a car.
To Annette, Toni, Teresa and my sisters you gave me unconditional support and love for which I will be forever grateful.
Thomas was a much-loved husband, father, father in law, Koko, brother, brother in law and uncle who was a huge part of our lives and is missed so very much.
Please accept this as our personal acknowledgement of our deepest gratitude.
Thomas’s headstone unveiling will be held at the Riverton Cemetery on Saturday 20 April 2019 at 2:30pm.
