A 35-year-old man from Dunedin has been charged with arson in connection to a suspicious house fire in Waikaia earlier this year.
The fire occurred just after midnight on 21 February 2024 at a property on Elswick Street. Emergency services responded quickly to the incident.
Following an extensive investigation, Police have now charged the man, who is set to appear in the Gore District Court on 17 December.
Detective Sergeant Brian McKinney of the Gore CIB said, “We’d like to thank the members of the public who provided information to Police throughout this investigation, to ensure the person responsible can be held accountable.”
