A fire started in one of the dryer cyclones at the Southland factory just before 8am.
Tthere were eleven fire crews at the scene with firefighters from Mataura, Gore, Edendale, Wyndham and Invercargill all in attendance.
What we know:
- there were eleven fire crews at the scene
- firefighters were using thermal imaging technology to detect hotspots of the fires location inside the plant
- there were no reports of injuries
- but embers that were virtually undetectable reignited when the plant was started up again.
- the factory had minimal damage an
- factory down time minimised
Fire was extinguished by the Mataura volunteer fire brigade crews.
Dongwha is known for fires at the plant back in 2016.
