New and continued support from local businesses and organisations has meant this year’s Invercargill City Centre Festival and Market will be bigger and better, with the festivities set to extend across the City Centre this Saturday from 10am until 2pm.

Esk Street Mall will be closed to cars for the period of the Festival & Market Day. There will be unique on-the-day sales from over 25 retailers on

  • Esk Street Mall
  • Kelvin street
  • Dee street
  • Tay street

Close to ten food trucks set up in Wachner place, and bands will be performing in the Esk Street Mall pocket parks and Dee Street throughout the day.

Council’s City Centre Co-ordinator, Kari Graber, said the event would offer something for the entire family including:

  • Esk Street Closed from 10-2pm
  • Opening of the Gingerbread House competition & winner announced
  • Free gingerbread men decorating for the kids
  • Music by Foveaux Choir on Esk Street from 1-2pm
  • Music at True Grit on Dee Street performed by  Saelyn Guyton Golden Guitar Winner
  • Free Face painting in the Cambridge Arcade
  • Lots of Crafts and Stalls
  • Sale Racks and One Day Sale in the City Centre
  • Crafters and Stalls filling the streets
  • Stilt walkers and hula hoop performers
  • The bubble guy
  • A giant bouncy castle for the kids.
  • Food Trucks in Wachner Place
  • Free Sausage sizzle from Elite Custom Hi-Fi
  • SIT Arcade done up as a Christmas Grotto
  • Scavenger Hunt will keep going so prizes to be wonWandering Santa and Pictures
  • Massages in the SIT Arcade
