Anyone looking for a destination to head to this weekend would do well to travel to Bluff.

The port town will be the venue for two events this weekend – the Bluff St John Annual Book Sale and the Bluff Garden Show.

The Book Show takes place on both Saturday and Sunday (15 & 16 February) at the Bluff Town Hall on Gore Street (SH1) from 10.00am to 4.00pm each day. Up for grabs are both fiction and non-fiction books, jigsaw puzzles, dvd’s, videos and much more. All proceeds will go to St John Bluff.

Just a short walk around the corner the Bluff Garden Show will be taking place at the Bluff Senior Citizens Rooms on the corner of Onslow & Barrow Street.

That event will be open from 12noon until 4.30pm on Saturday and from 11.00am to 3.00pm on Sunday with the prizegiving scheduled for Sunday at 3.00pm.

The show features sections for cut flowers, roses, floral art, baking, vegetables and garden produce, large/giant vegetables, handcrafts and container plants while there are also children’s competitions and raffles.

Admission to the Garden Show is $3.00 for adults, 50c for children over 12 years while Under 12’s are free. A $10 combo includes garden show entry, afternoon tea and a garden visits map.
