The SOUTHLAND BUSKERS FESTIVAL has been a highlight in Invercargill events calendar for the past six years, and we’re back January 28-31st with our seventh. We’re one of the region’s most accessible and entertaining events, bringing laughs and gasps to Invercargill each summer via a performance line-up of funny, witty and highly skilled national and international artists. This year’s line-up of fun and funny includes: Victor Rubilar from Argentina, The AJ DJ show and Eloise Green from Australia, The Biggest Little Circus, Captain Cook, Hoop Hooligans and Suzie Sport from NZ and Alex the Alien from a galaxy far, far away.
The 7th Southland Buskers Festival will hit the streets and parks of Invercargill from Thursday evening January 28th to Sunday afternoon January 31st with a programme schedule to suit everyone. We’ve even programmed an open juggling workshop for aspiring jugglers (young and old). Facilitated by some of the best jugglers in the country, this will be an opportunity to learn a skill you’ll be sure to use the rest of your life.
Full festival programmes will be available to download from Venture Southland’s website in early January. Our printed programme will be inserted with the Southland Times on January 14th and will also be available from a variety of city information outlets from the 12th of January.
It’s going to be nothing but fun!

HOOP HOOLIGANS (NZ)
The lads love to laugh! Their shows reflect the brotherly bond of two circus hooligans, who keep their audiences transfixed with a spellbinding combination of spectacular tricks, and slapstick tomfoolery.
Performing together since 2011, this playful and creative duo began adding slapstick, physical theatre and a wide range of props and unique tricks into their act early on establishing themselves as one of New Zealand’s best circus, fire and object manipulation shows. They both have a background in circus and performance arts and have toured together in New Zealand, Australia, Europe and USA. http://tecktoys.wix.com/hoophooligans#!info/c161y
