Invercargill City Councillors have resolutely backed the ‘They Save, We Pay’ campaign for Dunedin Hospital, standing united in the fight for essential healthcare services.
Invercargill Mayor Nobby Clark said the proposed budget overspend cuts to the Dunedin Hospital project would impact more than just the people of Dunedin and Otago.
Reece McDonald, a well-known figure in Southland's business and community circles, has passed away suddenly at the age of 47. McDonald owned the Invercargill photocopying business Good Tech, previously operating as Ricoh.
Reece became president of the Southland Business Chamber earlier this year.

Police have released the name of the man who died following a water-related incident in Milford Sound, Southland, earlier this week.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Daymon Bill Nuhaj, a resident of Milford Sound. Police have extended their sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time.
