Another outdoor event for Invercargill to get excited about is the 2nd Hardpark Takeover at the Ascot Park Raceway in April.
Organised by Faded Media & Events building off the first car show in October last year, you will see a huge range of vehicles like American Muscle, Japanese imports, Vintage car and Race cars on display on April 23.
Event company owner Troyden Findlay said they had already planned for how a show would work under the Red Light Setting, and the show could be split into four zones.
The raceway is also twice as big as last year’s Otepuni site, which attracted around 700 people – a successful event under the Level 2 restrictions they had – similar to now, he said.
“If we can do it at Level 2, we can do it like this – I know Invercargill needs an event like this.”
Troyden has a background in transport so working out the logistics of a multi-level zoned event was something he had experience in.
Feedback from last year’s show was that people just loved all of the diversity of the show and the variety of cars.
A donation box would be held onsite and proceeds would be going towards the South Island Ronald McDonald House in Christchurch.
