National Party leader Christopher Luxon is heading South and will hold a public meeting in the city on Friday, Invercargill MP Penny Simmonds says.
“Mr Luxon will be at Transport World, from 3.00pm, with the doors opening at 2.30pm.
“This meeting will be a good chance for people to hear from Christopher and to discuss issues of local and national concern.
“There has been much change in the political landscape recently, but nothing to alleviate the real issues facing Southlanders.
“For the past five and a half years Labour has demonstrated they have no plan to deal with the cost of living crisis, rising crime, and an overwhelmed health system.
“I’m looking forward to having Christopher in the South to share National’s plans for the future and to discuss the issues that matter to local people.
“I encourage both rural and urban people to attend this meeting, as it will provide an excellent forum to bring local concerns to the fore.”
“On Saturday (28/1) Christopher will head along to the Edendale Crank Up Day, from 10am to 12pm.
“This will be a great opportunity for us to showcase some of what makes Southland so special and it will be another chance for people to meet and greet the Leader of the Opposition.”
