It’s been an exciting week or so for some of our younger up and coming athletes.

Firstly congrats to all in involved, especially the girls of the Phoenix Synchro Swim Team who competed at the South Island Champs in Dunedin over the weekend.

The Phoenix girls came home with the medals coming first!

Goes to show that Synchronised Swimming is in very good health here in Invers.

Another young athlete that we’ll keep a very close eye on is Cormac Buchanan.

The 10 year old speedway rider has recently been awarded the Junior Solo Competitor of the Year at the 2017 Speedway New Zealand Awards. Howzat for commitment and tenacity!

The year 6 Waverly Park School student has a couple of goals on his radar, acing in the Speedway GrandPrix but his mum Kate tells us Cormac’s long term goal is to be a (top!) Moto GP rider.

Next big event for Cormac is an event in Auckland just before Christmas.

If you have or know of a youngster who is excelling at a team or individual sport and that we should know about please let us know [email protected]
