A wedding with plenty of charm – Mr and Mrs Cole.

It’s funny when you try and think about how two people came to meet – especially if they are from different countries. Robert is from South Africa, and Alisa was born, and spent the first few years of her life, in Australia. The couple were only together a short time before they announced their engagement – but if you come across ‘the one’ early in life, what’s the point in waiting? Robert and Alisa have now been married for over a year, and are now the proud parents of a dotting wee boy.

Their wedding day was magical – as all weddings should be. With reds, white and black as their colour theme, and every little decoration to match. Tables were decorated with black runners, mirrors, red sequins and even the wine glasses were fitted with a small red butterfly around the rim. There was lace draped from the ceiling, and Gerberas as the main flower for the occasion – even their formal invitations were custom made to match, on warm beige paper with dark red fonts.

Robert, the Groom, was dressed in a black suit, waistcoat, with a dark red shirt – as were his Groomsmen. Alisa, the Bride, wore an ivory gown, A-line silhouette, with a court train, which had amazing detail around the sweetheart neckline. Her Bridesmaids were in dark red, and each of them had their own style of dress which were all knee length.

The venue? Oh, the venue! They were married in an outdoor ceremony at Camp Tautuku, located about two and half hours out of Invercargill, deep in The Catlins. Surrounded by forestry, and small cabins for the guests to stay, it really was an ideal location. The ceremony was longer than most, as Robert is of Catholic decent, in which scriptures and prayers were read allowed by family and their Pastor. Reception was spent with family and friends, heart-touching speeches and a lot of partying! Everyone involved was highly pleased to be a part of such a lovely day, and everyone who had lent a helping hand was thanked during the Grooms speech.

Here is a photo from after the ceremony – the expression on their face says it all! So eager to finish the intimate moments and start their life together.
