Peacefully at Calvary Rest Home on Monday, 4th March 2024, aged 94 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Jack. Dearly loved mother of Valerie and Nelson McDermott (Cromwell), Daphne and Keith Millar, and Clint and Juanita. Dearly loved Nan of Carla, Rick and Selina, Nicola and Phil, Jacqueline and Matthew, Belinda and Jason, Emma and Arron and a loved great nan of her 12 great grandchildren. In the loving care of her family after a short illness on Tuesday 5 March 2024; in her 78th year. Loved wife of the late Nip Crooks, loved mother and mother-in-law of Karen and Vaughan Drozdzak, Cheryl and Tony Barron, Gary Crooks, Kim and Ross Best, Lyndal and Lyndon Paul. Loved Judy of Shane, Gaby, Jaron, Kate and Christy, Jack and Mary, Josh, Keisha, Zac, Bailey and Dylan, Maddie, and Brooklyn and great Nana of Hudson. A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street Invercargill on Friday 8 March at 3.00pm, private interment to follow. Fay passed away peacefully at her Te Anau home surrounded by loved ones on the 3rd of March 2024, aged 71 years. Daughter, Mother, Sister, Wife, Granny, Nurse, Eco Warrior, Petty Officer Wren L28645. Survived by loving husband and best friend John Whitehead. Much loved mother to Kate and Luigi, Jane and Jon, Julia and Craig. Second mother to Amy and Hamish, Jo and Phil, Ashley and Naomi. Sister to Brian*, Barry and Anne. Treasured Granny to Jude, Drew, Zac, Lola, Blair, Sage, Pippa, Tui, Greer, and Nova. Special thanks to the incredible team at Fiordland Medical Centre and the Invercargill Hospice for their incredible support and care. In accordance with Fay’s wishes a private cremation has been held. A beloved husband of the late Mavis, dearly loved dad of Ken and Carol Swinney, Sandra and Peter Bunce, Heather Gray and Bruce McRae, Robyn and Richard Conroy. Treasured Grandad of Sian, Leith; Shelley; Kerry, Rachelle, Melissa; Sarah, Jessica, and Jamie, much loved and very cheeky great grandad to all of his great grandchildren. Special thanks to the team at Cargill Rest Home for their loving care of Dad and also to Clare House who nursed Dad in his final weeks. A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street Invercargill on Thursday 7 March at 1.00pm. A private interment will follow.
