COMPTON, Leith:
On Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Gore Hospital, from cancer, aged 72 years. Dearly loved son of the late Gladys and Rex, loved brother of Sharon, and Glenys, much loved Dad of Rex and father-in-law of Sarah, adored Poppa of Daphne, Lily, and Chloe. ENGLISH, Margaret Isabella (nee Cavanagh):
Passed away at home peacefully with her three children present. Loved wife of the late Desmond. Margaret was a beloved mother and mother-in law to Wendy and Tim, Louise and Alan, and Warren and Ratna. Beloved nana to Adam, Mikaeel, Lulu, Tristan, Alesha, and Mason; and great-nana to Nakiah and Alara. As per Margaret’s wishes there will be a Requiem Mass at St Thomas’s Catholic Church in Winton at 10am Friday 5th April. A burial will be held thereafter at Dipton Cemetery. The family warmly invite those close to Margaret to an afternoon tea at her home from 2pm on Friday.

HEBBEND, Joanne:
Passed away peacefully, at Lakes District Hospital, Frankton, on March 23, 2024, aged 63 years. Dearly loved wife of Stephen, loved mother of Alicia, Rachel and Brendan, and cherished Jojo of Toby Hebbend-Wilson. Loved daughter of Mona and the late Percy Robertson and loved sister of Susan Swain. In accordance with Joanne’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Joanne’s life will be held in Remarkables Primary School, 49 Lake Avenue, Frankton, Queenstown, on Saturday, April 6, at 1.00 pm. KING, Peter Cyril – In Loving Memory
19/09/34- 30/03/24 – Formally from Kings Bend, Winton
It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Peter who passed away peacefully on the 30th March 2024 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 89. He was the cherished husband of Laureen, and a devoted father and father-in-law to Lisa and David (Australia), Michelle and Peter (England), Trina and Todd (USA), Andrew and Letitia (Stewart Island). Much loved grandfather to Alex, Sebastian, Ethan, Luke, Bella, and Ryan. Peter was also a beloved brother and brother-in-law to Warwick and Keiko, Wendy and Don, and Carol and Michael* Hardy. Peter will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff from Southland Hospital and Southland Hospice who cared for Peter. With sadness, we announce Dad made his final departure on 31 March 2024, aged 95. Formerly of New Plymouth, much loved husband and friend of the late Iris. Treasured father and father-in-law of David and Suzanne (Invercargill), Vanessa and Jim Elliott (New Plymouth), and Ken and Linda (Wellington). Cherished Grandad of Rachel Rankin, Gemma Goodall, and Joshua; Broughton and George Elliott; Lisa, Zoe and Ethan, and his 8 great-grandchildren.
