After a courageous battle, Jenny passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Rowena Jackson on Monday 27th November 2023. Dearly loved wife of the late Murray. Much loved mother and mother in law of Lindsay and Ann; Jayne, Graeme and Julie, Diane and Philip. Much loved Grandma of Sarah and Ric, Callum and Harriet, Georgia, Megan, Lucy, Yasmin and Tiare, Jackson and Anna, Chloe and Clayton, and Sam and Max. Much loved Great Grandma of Eloise, Oliver, Henry, Skyla and Kiedis. Loved sister and sister in law of Russell and Marilyn Blomfield, Bryon and Valerie, Gary* and Helen, and Keith and Ann. Balclutha Golf Club Life Member. Peacefully on November 28, 2023 at Dunedin Hospital; in her 96th year. Very dearly loved wife of the late Gordon, devoted mum and mum-in-law of Roger and Wendy, Barry and Kerry, Joy and Roger Moody, a very cherished Nana and great wee Nana Duncan of Jucinda, Stephen, Logan, and Renee; Tara, Andrew, Hadley, Emma, and Tessa; Phillipa, Regan, Carter, and McKenzie. A service to celebrate Roma’s life will be held on Monday, December 4 2023 at 1.30pm in St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 72 Clyde Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation. Dearly loved husband and soulmate of the late Jessie, very much loved father and father-in-law of Bill and Jacqui, Theresa and Russell Hurring (Dunedin), Nancy Gee and Cros Spooner (Wellington); Alison and Warren Lang (Finley NSW); Peter and Jenny (Gold Coast); Barb Gee and Doug Flett (Dunedin), and treasured Grandad of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. RILEY, Joy:
Unexpectedly, but peacefully passed away at Vickery Court on Monday 27th November 2023, aged 93 years. After a full and happy life married to Owen for 72 years, six children, twenty grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Dearly loved mother and mother in law of Neil and Lyn, Stacie and Lindsay Dow, Andrew and Yvonne (Brisbane), Hugh and Wendy, Clayton* and Barb, and Justin and Moira. Joy was dearly loved and will be missed by her siblings and a much loved Aunt of her nieces and nephews of the Blomfield and Riley families, and survived by Sue and Steve. Family wish to sincerely thank the staff at Vickery Court and Walmsley House for their loving care of Joy and Owen. A service to celebrate Joy’s life will be held on Friday 1st December 2023 at 1pm, J Fraser and Sons Chapel, Corner Esk and Doon Streets Invercargill.
