BURROWS, Douglas:
Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Southland Hospice, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, aged 74 years. Loving husband of Mary, dearly loved father of Sr Anna rsm, Sarah and Matthew Cruickshank, and Rachael, and loving grandfather to Louisa Cruickshank. Loved son and son-in-law of the late Ray and Hazel Burrowes and the late Clem and Cath Hickey, beloved brother of Paul, and brother-in-law of the late Pat Hickey, and Jan Hickey, and loved uncle of Rowan, Keith, Anthony, Michelle, and their families. RIP.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Ardwick Street, Gore, on Monday, March 3, at 11.00am, followed by interment at Charlton Park Cemetery, Bowmar Road, Gore. Rosary will be held in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, March 2, at 6.00pm. Donations may be left at the service for Hospice Southland. Doug's family wish to acknowledge and thank Dr. Adeeb Al Shadli, and all the medical staff at the Winton Medical Services, and Dr Andrew Ure of Gore Medical Centre, for their care of Doug. Peacefully on Wednesday 26 February 2025. Dearly loved mother and mother in-law of Gavin* and Drina, Christine and Gavin*, Robyn and Bernard, and Marie and Ka. Dearly loved grandma and great grandma of all her grandchildren. Cherished sister of Jenny, Graham, her late siblings and their families. A service will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill, on Saturday 1 March, at 10am, followed by cremation at the Southland Crematorium.
