EARLAND, Rodney Neil (Rod):
Of Invercargill. Passed peacefully on Monday 1 January, 2024 aged 94. Loved husband of the late Irene. Much loved Dad of Jane and Lindsay (Brisbane), Neil and Philippa (Forest Hill), Anne and Ian (Alexandra), Kerry and Ward (Alexandra), Jacqui and Mark (Dunedin). Loved Grand Rod of Claudia, Liam, and Gianna Gillies; Grace, Henry, and Lochie Earland; Etta, and Billie Grant; Giordyn, Rosheen, and Steffi Moss; Jay, and Thea Davis. Also Great Grand Rod of Aurelia. Loved brother of the late Valerie Portman (Nelson), and Audrey Le Roy (Timaru). Respected Uncle of all his nieces and nephews. GRAHAM: Colin Patrick, (Pat):
Pat passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Clare House, on Tuesday 9th January 2024 in his 95th year. Deeply devoted husband of Valma for 68 years. Most loving father and father-in-law of Marie, Kathryn and Brian Casey, the late Jillian and Geoff Harris, Ann and Lindsay Affleck. Adored Grandad,G-Dad and Great-Grandad of Aimee, Anna-Lee, Sarah, the late Bridget; James, Alice, David, Lydia; Emma, Aaron; Sarah, Callum, Georgia and his 14 great-grandchildren. Loved uncle to his nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Friday 12 January, in J Fraser and Sons’ Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill at 2.30pm followed by a private interment. RILEY, Owen Stewart:
Peacefully passed away at Vickery Court on Saturday 6th January 2024, aged 97 years. After a full and happy life, married for 71 years to the late Joy, Owen is survived by six children, twenty grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. A very much loved father and father in law of Neil and Lyn, Stacie and Lindsay Dow, Andrew and Yvonne (Brisbane), Hugh and Wendy (Mapua), Clayton* and Barb, and Justin and Moira (Timaru). Owen was a loved brother in law and uncle, who will be dearly missed by nieces and nephews of the Riley and Blomfield families. The family wish to sincerely thank Dawn Acker and the staff at both Vickery Court and Walmsley House for their loving care of Owen and the late Joy. A service to celebrate Owen’s life will be held on Friday 12th January 2024 at 11.30am, J Fraser and Sons Chapel, Corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill. Valerie passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday 7th January 2024 in her 93rd year. Reunited with her beloved husband, Bob. Much loved Grandma of Agnes and Nic, Robert and Emma, Benjamin and Rebecca, Eilish and Gregoire; Sam, Jared; Sophia, Hannah, Ryan; Ryley, Luca, Cassie; and Ollie. Proud great-Grandma of Charlotta; Esther, Bastien; and Annabelle.

A special ‘thank you’ to the staff of Iona for their exceptional care of Valerie. A service to celebrate Valerie’s life will be held at Peacehaven Chapel, 498 Tweed Street, Invercargill, on Friday 12th January at 1.30pm followed by an interment at the Eastern Cemetery.
