BEWLEY, John:
Passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2025, in his 80th year, after a brave battle with motor neuron disease. He was the treasured husband of Liz and father of Tony, Mark, Rachel, Jasmine, and Krystal. Father-in-law of Andrea, Carol, and Paul. A proud grandad to Nicole, Fergus, James, Antonia, Jess, Charli, Summer, Rubi, Kerei, and Ivy. Not to forget, an adored Dadda to Coco. Our memories of him will forever be cherished. A celebration of John's life will be held where friends and family can gather and remember John on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Nelson Bowls Club Rooms, 29 Examiner Street, Nelson, between 2.30 - 4.30pm.

Passed away peacefully at Vickery Court on Wednesday 25th December 2024, aged 87 years. Loved husband of the late Elaine. Loved father and father in law of Michelle and Kevin Sutherland, Angela Burke and Steve Curry, and Nicola Burke and Tim Silbert. Loved Grandad of Callum and Hamish. LAY, Joseph Robert (Joe):
Of Gore, passed peacefully on Monday 6 January 2025 aged 61 years.Dearly loved Dad of Kylie and Tony, Jody and Mark, Aaron and Deanne. Adoring Granddad of Bindi, Nate, Sasha, Cohen, Kayden, Maddison, and Jaxon. Loved brother of Gary, Rachel, Mark, Malcolm, and Andrew. A service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held in Grace Presbyterian Church, 689 Tweed Street, Invercargill on Thursday 9 January at 2pm followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be appreciated and can be made at the service. Passed away on January 3, 2025 at Birchleigh Residential Care Centre, Mosgiel; aged 87 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Myfwany, loved father and father-in-law of Simon and Shaska, David and Gill, Stephen and Donna, Melody and John, loved grandad of Renee, Caeden, Sam, Ben, Lauren and Sifi. Special thanks to personal friend and John's GP, Dr Ben Hayward, Brooklands, Janefield and Braeside staff for their care and kindness; also the many friends, young and old, from the local community of Jehovah's Witnesses who visited John over the last five years while he was in care. Passed away on Thursday 2nd January 2025, aged 86 years. Loved only son of the late Bert and Nelly. Loved husband of Frances, and much-loved father of Carey, and Brent.
