CARTER, Maureen Joan (nee Baird):
Peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Mossbrae Healthcare, Mosgiel; in her 74th year. Deeply loved wife of Bruce, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Geoff and Naomi (Invercargill), Debbie and Graham Walker (Christchurch), loved Nana Maureen of Finn Carter and loved Step-Nana of Daniel, Joshua and Shannon Murch and step-great Nana of Lucas, and Xavier, beloved daughter of Raymond* and Gladys* Baird, daughter-in-law of Owen* and Marjorie* Carter, beloved sister and sister-in-law to Ron* and Irene* Baird (Motueka), Lorraine and Ken Murdoch (Nelson), Annette and Raymond* Anderson (Oamaru), Stewart and Margaret Carter (Cromwell), and Gordon and Barbara Carter (Oamaru), fun loving aunty to all her nieces and nephews and great-aunty to their children. Special thanks to all the staff at Ross Home and more recently Mossbrae Healthcare for their loving care and attention given to Maureen. A funeral to celebrate Maureen’s life will be held in Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel, at 2.00pm on Thursday, January 5, followed by private creamation. EMERSON, Luella Fay (Fay):
Passed peacefully on Saturday 31 December, 2022 at Peacehaven aged 86. Dearly loved wife of the late Ray. Much loved Mum, Nana, Grandmother “Wanny”, Great and Great-great-Nana, (also “Nana-Fay” and “Little-Nana”). A service for Fay will be held in J Fraser & Sons’ Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill on Monday 9 January at 10am followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery. GILLIES, Donella Russell (nee Smith):
At Dunedin Hospital, on December 30, 2022, after a short illness and with her loving family by her side; aged 93 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Archie, a cherished mum and mother-in-law to
Donny and Levena (Cromwell), Stephen and Annette (Milton), Warwick and Dely (Adelaide), Keith and Sarah (Milton), Russell (Oamaru) and a loved Grandma to Richard, and Andy; Craig, Simon, and Emma; Callie, and Scott; Kerri, Clint, and Jazmine; Lee, Amy, and Teryn and their families. A service to celebrate Donella’s life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 1.30pm in the Tokomairiro Co-Operating Parish, Union Street, Milton, followed by a private cremation. A service to celebrate Elsie’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill on Thursday 5 January at 10:30am.
