Passed, 9 June 2024
Passed away 9th June 24, with his loving wife Kathy at his side, after a long battle with dementia. Loving husband of Kathy, father and father-in-law of Paul and Janice, Kayleen (deceased), and Mandy (deceased). Grandad to Bradley, Benjamin, Brianna, Liam, Shya, Sam and Rachel. As per John’s wishes, a private family service was held on Wednesday 12th June. Many thanks to all who helped make this day very special. The family extends many thanks to well-wishers and those who cared for John in his final days. Special thanks goes out to all staff at Clare House who did an exceptional job with John’s care throughout his illness. We would also like to thank Distinct Funerals for helping arrange this day exactly how John wished it. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Southland would be appreciated. Of Winton, aged 93 years at Radius Clare House, Invercargill, on Sunday 16th June, 2024. Loved wife of the late Eoin. Loved mother of Laurie, Bronwyn, and the late Kirsten. Loved mother-in-law of Jill Paris, and Vicki-Anne Heikell. Loved G’ma of Yvette, and Logan Moore. Loved daughter of Reg* and Maythal* Roberts (Sawyers Bay), and loved sister and sister-in-law of Audrey* and Brian* Falloon. Loved sister-in-law of Bill* and Gwen, Jean and Keith* Connell, Margaret* and George* Greenfield, and Keith* and Fay and loved aunt. A service for Edna will be held at the Southland Crematorium on Thursday 20th June at 1.30pm. (*denotes deceased). Loved Brother and Brother-in-law of Darryl and Rachel, Wynetta and Danny, and Leah. Loved Uncle to his nephews and nieces. Good friend to many. A service to celebrate Orlando’s life will be held in the Southland Crematorium Chapel, Rockdale Road, Invercargill on Friday 21st June 2024 at 1.30pm.
