Peacefully slipped away at Parata Rest Home Gore, with his loving family by his side, on September 6, 2024. Aged 91 years. Dearly loved and cherished husband of the late Noeline for 68 years.
Much loved father and father-in-law of Peter (Rolleston), Barry and Julie (Waikaka Valley), Linda and Peter Rhodes (Timaru). Much loved Grandad of Fiona and William Leith, Nicola and Ashley Muir, Lisa and Roy Gibson; Michael and Ayumi, Bevan and Joy Rhodes. Special Great Grandad of Charlotte, Emma, Max, Taylor, Isaac, Emilia and James. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ardwick Street, Gore, on Wednesday September 11, at 1.00pm, private cremation to follow. McRAE, Norman:
Surrounded by his loving family at his home, Invercargill, on Sunday, September 8, 2024. In his 94th year. Loved husband and best friend of the late Margaret. Loved father, father-in-law of the late Peter, Penny, Cathrena, the late Helmut, Karen, Simon and Sandy. Loved grandfather and great-grandfather. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Marion and the late James Wilson, and Barbara and Keith Keesing and the late Cathrena. A service to celebrate Norman's life will be held in First Church, Tay Street, Invercargill at 2.00pm on Friday, September 13. In lieu of flowers donations may be left at the service for the Southland Hospice. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks for the amazing care and support from Dr Robert Bester and his team at Bester McKay, Hospice Southland, Royal District Nursing, District Nursing, Kew Hospital Rehab Ward & Good Partners who made it possible for Norman to make his final journey from home. Passed peacefully at Strathallan Life Care on Saturday, September 7, 2024; aged 95 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Daphne. Loved father and father-in-law of Phil and Tania (Te Anau), Kay and Murray Davies, Kevin and Davyne (Chch), Julie (dec) and Kane. Dear friend and partner of Rhonda. Loved granddad and great-granddad of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the caring staff of Strathallan Hospital Wing and Dr Hasan. A Service celebrating Owen's life will be held at Aoraki Funeral Services Chapel, 160 Mountain View Road, Timaru, on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11.00am.
