3.1.1925-24.7.2023 – Peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 24, 2023; 98Â½ years young. Dearly loved wife for 54 years to the late Charles (Chappie), much loved mother and mother-in-law of Jim and the late Sue, Neville and Mary, Isobel and Bryce Thomson, Bruce and Sally, proud and cherished Nanny to Charlie, Andrew, Annabelle, Gretchen, Jane, Margot, Lizzie, Anna and Sam and treasured great-grandmother Nella of Max, Perri, Ruby, Marley, Tyrell, Esme, Charlie, Kate, Jethro, Frank, Fleur, Nina, Tommy, Edie, Kaitlyn, Harry and Chloe. A much respected and loved resident of Patearoa who was admired for her zest for life, her longevity, astute brain and memory that remained sharp until her passing. A service to celebrate Donella’s rich life will be held at the Maniototo Stadium, 1 Dungannon Street, Ranfurly, on Tuesday, 1 August, at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maniototo Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Dr Verne Smith and the staff at the Maniototo Hospital and Rest Home for their care and kindness Donella received whilst there. KITTO, Frederick George (Fred/Honk):
On Sunday 23 July 2023, Fred unexpectedly but peacefully passed away aged 84 years. Cherished and loved husband and soulmate of the late Shirley. Beautiful and treasured dad of Glenda and Jaffa, Chrissy and Donald, Valda, Shirley-Anne and Gerard. A devoted and adored grandfather, great-grandfather and great great– grandfather of his gorgeous grandchildren. Fred will be resting at 82 MacMaster Street until his service, which will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, on Friday 28th July at 1.00pm with a private cremation to follow. It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Jo, peacefully at home, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, surrounded by her much loved family. Cherished and devoted Mum to Travis and Morgan and loyal loving companion of Jessie. Adored and much loved daughter of Shari and Brett, Ross and Robyn; special dearly loved sister and best friend of Kris* and deeply loved fiancée of Michael, treasured and dearly loved niece of all her Aunties and Uncles, and a loved cousin. Peacefully at Hospice Southland surrounded by his loving whanau on Tuesday 25 July 2023. Dearly loved son of Katrina and Neil, deeply loved and cherished brother of Damion, Caleb, Kurt and their partners, Alesha, and Kyra. Fun loving uncle Nik to Shaquille*, Braxton, Xavier, Kensey Keri Ray, Wairau, Mikhania, Sovereign, Ngawari, Athena, and Moana Jade. A treasured nephew to all his aunties and uncles, and a cherished cousin. A much loved brother from all the boys. Nikolai will be resting at Te Tomairangi Marae, 54 Eye Street, until his service, which will be held in Te Tomairangi Marae on Saturday 29 July at 11.00am.
